Fundraise for DOGO

Useful context before you start: in Nigeria a treatment costs about £3. So a fundraiser that raises £300 is not an abstract contribution. It is approximately one hundred people treated.

Complete a sports event

A charity cycle, a marathon, a swim. Set up a fundraising page and share it. It works because the people who sponsor you are giving to you, not to a charity they have never heard of, and the trust transfers.

Fundraise where you work

A bake sale, a charity auction, a donation box, a matched giving scheme if your employer runs one. Workplace fundraising has an advantage worth exploiting: you can explain the model in person. "Three pounds treats somebody completely, and you find out their name" is a sentence that works much better spoken than written.

Run a donation stand

Volunteer to run a stand at a community event, a shopping centre or outside a venue. Talk to people, explain what DOGO does, and take donations.

What we provide: we will help you set everything up, give you all the collateral you need, and send you a DOGO t-shirt.

Fundraise online

Run a crowdfunding campaign, for instance to help launch a new stand or a new region. We will give you the information you need and practical guidance on running a campaign that actually converts rather than one that quietly stalls at 12%.

Two things that make DOGO fundraising easier than most

  • The unit is tiny and concrete. Most charity asks are abstract. Ours is "three pounds treats one person, completely." People can picture that.
  • There is a receipt. You can tell the people who sponsored you that the money reached named individuals, with an itemised bill. Very few fundraisers can say that.

Get started

Write to info@dogoapp.org and tell us what you are planning. We will send you what you need.

Give someone a treatment

Set up a £5 monthly donation and we will show you exactly who it treated. In Nigeria, £5 covers one person's entire treatment, usually with change.

Three ways to give, all working right now:

Monthly from £5, one-off from £10. Cancel any time from the app. Questions first? Write to info@dogoapp.org.
