Our purpose
DOGO exists to pay the medical bills of people who cannot afford treatment, and to show every donor exactly who their money treated. Those two halves are equally important. The first is the charitable work. The second is what makes it sustainable, because donors who can see what they achieved keep giving.
Who founded it
DOGO was founded by Sal Mohammed, previously a technology partnerships lead at Google for the UK and Ireland, after a 2022 phone call about cholera deaths in northern Nigeria. The account is on our story.
How we are accountable
- To the Charity Commission, as a registered charity in England and Wales.
- To our donors, who each receive the name of the person their donation treated and an itemised breakdown of the bill.
- To our patients, through the privacy and safeguarding commitments on this site. See patient privacy and safeguarding.
- To our partner facilities, who are paid directly for verified treatment.
How we are funded
Through individual donations, monthly and one-off, and through grants and prizes such as the £10,000 from the London Business School Launchpad Accelerator. We are developing an advertising funded model, described on what we are building next.
Our apps
- Dogo Health, the donor app, on iOS and Android.
- DOGO Keeper, used by partner clinics to submit treatment records.
Related organisations
DOGO sits alongside Connected Homeless.

Give someone a treatment
Set up a £5 monthly donation and we will show you exactly who it treated. In Nigeria, £5 covers one person's entire treatment, usually with change.
Three ways to give, all working right now:
- Donate on WhatsApp. The quickest route. Message us and we will set it up inside the chat. No app to install, no forms, no password.
- Dogo Health on the App Store, or on Google Play. Set your amount once and you are matched with a new person automatically each month.
Monthly from £5, one-off from £10. Cancel any time from the app. Questions first? Write to info@dogoapp.org.
